The Crossroads Blues Club
Every Thursday, @ Tower of Song, Birmingham, £FREE
Crossroads Blues Club puts on Blues open mic sessions, guest artistes and Blues jams on Thursday nights at the Tower of Song venue in Cotteridge, Birmingham. Evenings usually kick off with a blues open mic session - all abilities and styles welcome. The Tower of Song is an acoustic venue but there is a good house PA and electric guitars are welcome as long as you don't view making people's ears bleed as a musical achievement. You don't have to book an open mic spot in advance but it helps us plan the evening and gives you a better chance of getting a spot if you do. Most weeks, we feature a guest artiste, duo or band for the second half of the evening. We focus on the huge pool of local talent on The Midlands scene but occasionally look further afield - and we encompass as many styles of Blues as possible. Once a month, we have a Blues Jam evening.
